What can delay wall graphics and murals in Strabane?

The usual causes are artwork changes after the proof stage, waiting for consent, access arrangements such as a council licence for scaffolding on the pavement, and weather for outdoor fitting. Jobs typically run smoothly once the proof is approved and any consent is in place, but we do not promise dates that depend on things outside our control.

Who carries out the work on wall graphics and murals in Strabane?

The work on site is done by installers working under our contract, and anything that needs making is produced by specialist fabricators. You deal with Smart Signs throughout: we take the enquiry, survey, prepare the design and quote, check consent and coordinate the fitting, so there is one point of contact from first message to handover.

Are wall graphics suitable for gyms?

Yes, with the right material. Laminated vinyl copes with sweat, wiping and knocks from equipment. In changing rooms keep graphics away from showers and areas that are regularly soaked, where edges will lift, and make sure humid spaces are well ventilated.

Can you fit while the building is open?

Usually, yes. Vinyl fitting is quiet, low-odour and needs only a clear area by the wall, so offices and shops often stay open. For schools, busy receptions or large murals, the work can be scheduled for evenings, weekends or school holidays.

Does the price of wall graphics and murals in Strabane include VAT?

No. Our guide range of £38–£82 per m² excludes VAT, which is added to the quote. The final figure depends on size, materials, access, removal of existing signage or graphics and the artwork needed, and we confirm it in writing after a survey or once we have checked your files.

Can wall graphics go on an outside wall?

Sometimes, but it's a different job. Outside walls need weather- and UV-resistant materials, and a branded graphic counts as an advertisement, so consent may be needed; we check first. A printed panel fixed to the wall often outlasts vinyl on rough masonry.

Wall graphics and murals in Strabane: permission and rules

Graphics on interior walls usually fall outside advertisement control, so planning consent is rarely the question indoors. The checks are fire performance in escape routes, your lease, and listed status: listed building consent covers interiors too, so ask the council before fixing to historic surfaces. A branded graphic on an outside wall is normally treated as an advertisement; in England it falls under the 2007 regulations, and large graphics may need express consent. Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own rules. If consent is needed, we can prepare the drawings and photos or submit the application for you.
