Who we are
Smart Signs is a trading name of S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd (company no. 16932889), which supplies the signs and services described on this website. The website, smart-signs.uk, is operated on its behalf by its group company S&K Group Holdings Ltd (company no. 16703925, Unit 1 Hembs Crescent, Great Barr, Birmingham B43 5DG).
S&K Group Holdings Ltd is the data controller for enquiries made through this website. If you go ahead with a job, S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd becomes a separate data controller for the information needed to deliver and invoice it. Where this notice says “we”, it means whichever of the two is responsible at that stage.
What we collect
- Details you send us: name, phone, email, postcode, the sign you need, your message, and any photos or files.
- Guide price tool answers, if you send them with your enquiry.
- Live chat messages, if you use chat.
- With your consent only: analytics data (pages visited, device type, approximate location) through Google Analytics.
Why we use it (lawful basis)
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote — steps at your request before entering a contract.
- To deliver and invoice the job if you go ahead — contract and legal obligations.
- Analytics and live chat cookies — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Keeping records of quotes and enquiries — legitimate interests in running the business and handling queries.
Who we share it with
Our website host (Netlify); our form provider (Web3Forms) and email provider, to deliver enquiries; Tawk.to for live chat; WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to message us there; Google for analytics, only if you accept; and, if you go ahead, the fabricators and installers working under our contract on your job. We don’t sell your data.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don’t go ahead: up to 24 months. Job and invoice records: up to 7 years for tax and legal purposes.
International transfers
Some providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your data, object to or restrict processing, and ask for data portability. Email info@smart-signs.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
