Glass manifestation in Greater London

Glass manifestation for businesses across Greater London, planned and quoted by Smart Signs and fitted by installers working under our contract. We cover the whole of England as part of a UK-wide service, so whether your premises or vehicles are in the main town or a smaller place nearby, the steps are the same: photos or a survey, a scaled proof, a fixed price, then the work.

From £65 per pane + VAT · UK guide price

Glass manifestation is marking such as dots, bands, logos or frosted strips applied to glass doors, screens and partitions so people can see the glass and don't walk into it.

Why choose glass manifestation in Greater London?

  • Shops with frameless glass entrances in central London can turn the marking into branding, repeating the logo in both zones.
  • Restaurants in central London with glass screens between tables can use subtle frosted patterns that mark the glass without blocking views.
  • If an inspection in central London has flagged unmarked glass, one measured survey can price every door and panel.

Guide prices in Greater London

Rules for window and glass graphics in Greater London

Two sets of rules can touch glass graphics in England. The first is advertisement control: lettering and graphics on the inside of a shop window are often outside it or allowed, but councils differ, and conservation areas and listed shopfronts can bring restrictions on large graphics. The second is safety. Approved Document K points to manifestation bands at 850–1000 mm and 1400–1600 mm from the floor, and in workplaces regulation 14 of the 1992 Workplace Regulations requires glazing to be marked where needed. We take both into account when we set out the proof, and we check with the council where the building or street calls for it.

Glass manifestation in Greater London: questions

Is there a guide price for glass manifestation in central London?

Yes: £65–£180 per pane + VAT is our guide range. It is not a fixed quote, because no two jobs are the same size or on the same surface. The area covered, materials, the number of letters or panels, removal of anything old and access all change the figure, which we confirm after seeing the site or artwork.

Can our logo be used as manifestation?

Yes, if it does the job. A logo repeated across both zones, solid enough to notice and contrasting with what's behind the glass, can work. A small, faint logo in one spot usually isn't enough, so it's often paired with a band.

What height should glass manifestation be?

England's Approved Document K suggests two zones: 850–1000 mm and 1400–1600 mm above floor level. Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own building guidance with the same aim. We measure from the finished floor and set markings within those bands across each pane.

Will someone visit my premises in central London before quoting?

If the job needs it, yes. For signs fixed to a building, anything illuminated or work at height, we arrange a survey to measure, check the wall and plan access. For window graphics, lettering and many vehicle jobs, clear photos with measurements are often enough, and we only visit if something needs a closer look.

Does manifestation go on both sides of the glass?

Usually not. Frosted film and most vinyls show from both sides because the glass is clear, so one layer on the room side normally works. Printed or coloured designs may need a second layer if the back looks plain or reversed.

Can you work to an opening date in central London?

Tell us the date when you enquire and we will say plainly whether it looks realistic. Timescales typically depend on how soon the proof is approved, how long production takes and whether consent is needed, which can take several weeks on its own. We plan around your date where we can, but we do not promise one we cannot control.
