Glass manifestation is marking such as dots, bands, logos or frosted strips applied to glass doors, screens and partitions so people can see the glass and don't walk into it.
Practical reasons to consider glass manifestation in Bedford
- Schools, surgeries and leisure centres around Bedford see visitors of every age and height, which is why two marking zones matter.
- Where a Bedford building has a glazed stairwell or atrium, access to every pane is planned at the survey.
- Shops with frameless glass entrances in Bedford can turn the marking into branding, repeating the logo in both zones.
What glass manifestation costs in Bedford
Here is the price picture for glass manifestation in Bedford: a guide of £65 to £180 per pane, with VAT on top. The rows below give more detail. A survey or artwork check comes first, and then we confirm the price in writing.
| Item | Guide, ex VAT | Inc. VAT (20%) |
|---|---|---|
| Manifestation per door or pane | £65 – £180 | £78 – £216 |
| Typical office floor (6–12 panes) | £450 – £1,450 | £540 – £1,740 |

Rules for window and glass graphics in Bedford
Window graphics are something councils treat in different ways. Graphics applied inside the glass are often outside advertisement control or allowed without an application, but large graphics on a listed shopfront or in a conservation area can be restricted, so we check first. Manifestation is a separate matter of safety rather than advertising: glazing that people could walk into must be made visible. In England, Approved Document K suggests marking two zones, 850–1000 mm and 1400–1600 mm above floor level, and the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992, regulation 14, require transparent surfaces to be marked where necessary for safety.
