Glass manifestation is marking such as dots, bands, logos or frosted strips applied to glass doors, screens and partitions so people can see the glass and don't walk into it.
Glass manifestation in Ampthill: the practical benefits
- During an Ampthill fit-out, sign-off tends to go more smoothly when the glazing is already marked at the recommended heights.
- Where an Ampthill building has a glazed stairwell or atrium, access to every pane is planned at the survey.
- Schools, surgeries and leisure centres around Ampthill see visitors of every age and height, which is why two marking zones matter.
What glass manifestation costs in Ampthill
Below is the guide pricing we use for glass manifestation: from £65 up to £180 per pane, before VAT. These are not fixed quotes. A written price follows once measurements are taken and your artwork has been checked.
| Item | Guide, ex VAT | Inc. VAT (20%) |
|---|---|---|
| Manifestation per door or pane | £65 – £180 | £78 – £216 |
| Typical office floor (6–12 panes) | £450 – £1,450 | £540 – £1,740 |
| Minimum job | £195 | £234 |
Dots and bands cost least; logos and two-tone designs more. Pane size, old markings to remove and high glazing also count; the price is confirmed after survey.

Rules for window and glass graphics in Ampthill
Most businesses ask two things about glass: do I need permission, and does it need marking? On permission, councils in England take differing views on window graphics; inside-the-glass work is often outside control or allowed, while big graphics on listed shopfronts or in conservation areas can be restricted. We check before you commit. On marking, Approved Document K recommends manifestation at 850–1000 mm and 1400–1600 mm above floor level on glazing people could walk into, and the Workplace Regulations 1992 (regulation 14) cover transparent surfaces at work. Our proof shows the heights, so you can see the result before anything is cut.
