Do you need to visit before fitting?

Not always. For a single door or window, clear photos taken straight on with a tape measure in shot, plus glass sizes, are often enough for a scaled proof. A visit helps for large frontages, unusual glazing or old lettering to remove.

How long does it take to get window and door lettering in Rhondda?

It typically takes a few weeks from first enquiry, with much of that time falling after you approve the proof, while the work is made and scheduled. Graphics and vehicle jobs are typically shorter than fabricated or illuminated signs. If advertisement consent is needed, the council's decision comes first and adds to the overall timescale.

Is there a guide price for window and door lettering in Rhondda?

Yes: £95–£480 per window + VAT is our guide range. It is not a fixed quote, because no two jobs are the same size or on the same surface. The area covered, materials, the number of letters or panels, removal of anything old and access all change the figure, which we confirm after seeing the site or artwork.

How much does door lettering cost?

Door lettering with opening hours has a guide price of £95–£245 + VAT, supplied and fitted, and a full window set £195–£480 + VAT. Gold or metallic vinyl adds a guide £30–£120 + VAT. The price is confirmed once we see photos and wording.

Can you handle window and door lettering for a business in Rhondda?

Yes. Smart Signs covers Rhondda and the rest of Mid Glamorgan as part of a UK-wide service. You send photos and rough sizes, we arrange a survey if the job needs one, then you receive a proof to scale and a fixed written price. Nothing is made or fitted until you have approved both.

How long does door lettering take to fit?

Not long on site. A door set with a name and opening hours typically takes under an hour once the glass is clean, and a full window set a few hours, depending on the amount of text and any old lettering to remove.

Rules for window and glass graphics in Rhondda

Often the bigger question with glass is safety rather than planning. Glazing that people could walk into must be marked so it is visible, and in workplaces the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 (regulation 14) require it where necessary; the building guidance used in Wales shares that aim. Planning can still matter. Councils in Wales treat window graphics in different ways, and large graphics on listed shopfronts or within conservation areas may be restricted, even though internal graphics are often allowed. We check with you before anything is printed or cut.
