How soon after I approve the proof can the work on van wraps happen?

Typically within a few weeks, depending on what has to be made. Printed and cut graphics are typically produced sooner than fabricated letters, trays or illuminated signs, which need more fabrication time. If the job needs advertisement consent, fitting waits for the council's decision. We confirm an expected date for Hoddesdon once materials are ordered.

Will someone visit my premises in Hoddesdon before quoting?

If the job needs it, yes. For signs fixed to a building, anything illuminated or work at height, we arrange a survey to measure, check the wall and plan access. For window graphics, lettering and many vehicle jobs, clear photos with measurements are often enough, and we only visit if something needs a closer look.

Can a wrap go over the existing lettering?

It's better not to. Old lettering leaves raised edges that show through new film, and the new wrap would only be as secure as the old vinyl underneath. Taking the lettering off first, cleaning away the adhesive and checking for ghosting gives the wrap a smooth base. Removal is quoted as part of the job when it's needed.

What is the price of van wraps for a business in Hoddesdon?

Guide pricing runs from £795 to £3,850 per van, plus VAT. The main things that move it are dimensions, the material and finish, illumination where relevant, how high the work is and whether a scaffold or platform is needed. Your written quote, issued after a survey or a check of your artwork, replaces the guide figure.

Can a wrap go over dents, rust or a respray?

A wrap follows the surface it's on, so dents and deep scratches still show through, and rust keeps spreading underneath. Poor resprays and failing lacquer are the bigger risk, because they can lift when the wrap is removed later. We check the paint before quoting and suggest any repairs that should happen first.

How long does a van wrap last?

Manufacturers commonly rate quality cast wrap film for around 5–7 years on vertical panels such as the sides and rear doors. The roof and bonnet face the sun and weather directly, so they age faster. Colour, climate, parking and washing habits all make a difference, and a van kept out of direct sun and washed gently will usually look better for longer.

Rules for vehicle graphics in Hoddesdon

Advertisement consent does not usually come into vehicle graphics. Advertisements on a vehicle normally used as a moving vehicle are outside advertisement control in England, although a vehicle parked up mainly to act as a billboard is treated differently. The rules that matter are road and registration ones. If a wrap changes the main colour, update the V5C log book with DVLA and tell your insurer. The windscreen must let through at least 75% of light and the front side windows at least 70% under the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986, so we keep graphics off them. Leased vehicles: check the lease allows graphics.
