How much lettering fits on a small van?

More than you'd think, but less than you might want. A small van has room for a clear business name, a short services line and a large phone number on each side, plus the name and number on the rear doors. Squeezing in a long list of services makes everything smaller, so we'll suggest which words to keep.

Is there a typical lead time for van sign-writing in Whitburn?

Yes, though it varies with the job. The lead time typically runs from the day you approve the proof, not from the first enquiry, and is typically a few weeks. Survey visits, artwork changes and any consent application sit before that point, so getting photos, sizes and logo files to us early typically shortens the overall timescale.

Is Whitburn inside your coverage area for van sign-writing?

It is. We work throughout the UK rather than in a single region, so Whitburn and every part of Edinburgh and the Lothians are included. Where a survey is needed we arrange a visit; for graphics jobs we can often quote from photos and measurements. Either way, you get a proof and a written price first.

What is the price of van sign-writing for a business in Whitburn?

Guide pricing runs from £245 to £895 per van, plus VAT. The main things that move it are dimensions, the material and finish, illumination where relevant, how high the work is and whether a scaffold or platform is needed. Your written quote, issued after a survey or a check of your artwork, replaces the guide figure.

What's the difference between cut vinyl and printed graphics?

Cut vinyl is solid-colour film cut by a plotter into letters and shapes, then weeded and applied, so it's crisp, durable and economical for text. Printed graphics are inks on white film, laminated, and used where a logo has gradients, photos or many colours. Many vans combine both: cut lettering with one printed logo panel.

Can you copy the lettering from my old van?

Yes, as long as there are clear photos. Send straight-on pictures of each side and the rear doors, with something of known size in shot such as the number plate. We redraw the layout to suit the new van's panels, which is also a good moment to tidy up the wording or update the phone number.

Van sign-writing in Whitburn

Van sign-writing is lettering, a logo and contact details cut from coloured vinyl and applied straight onto a van's paint, usually on the sides and rear doors, without covering whole panels in printed film.

Rules for vehicle graphics in Whitburn

For vehicle graphics in Scotland, think DVLA and insurance rather than planning. A vehicle that is normally driven is outside advertisement control, though one parked up mainly as an advertisement is not. If the main colour changes, update the colour on your V5C and tell your insurer. We keep all graphics clear of the windscreen and front side windows, which need at least 75% and 70% light transmission under the 1986 Construction and Use Regulations. Before wrapping, we check the paintwork: chips, rust, poor resprays or failing lacquer can lift when the wrap is removed later.
