A lightbox sign is a shallow enclosed box with a translucent face and LED lighting inside, so the whole panel, or just lettering routed into it, glows evenly at night.
Reasons to choose lightbox signs in Prestatyn
- A Prestatyn takeaway trading mostly after dark keeps its name and number readable with a fully lit face.
- Businesses with several sites across Clwyd can share one set of artwork, so the Prestatyn branch matches the rest.
- Late-opening barbers and cafés in Prestatyn can use routed faces so only the name glows, for a cleaner look.
What lightbox signs cost in Prestatyn
Guide prices for lightbox signs run from £1,250 to £4,800 per lightbox, excluding VAT. The table below breaks that down; your actual price is fixed in writing once we have surveyed the site or checked the artwork.
| Item | Guide, ex VAT | Inc. VAT (20%) |
|---|---|---|
| Lightbox up to 3 m, printed face | £1,250 – £2,650 | £1,500 – £3,180 |
| Lightbox 3–5 m, routed and push-through letters | £2,450 – £4,800 | £2,940 – £5,760 |
| Replacement face for an existing lightbox | £295 – £950 | £354 – £1,140 |
Length and face type drive most of the price; shaped or double-sided boxes, old-cabinet removal, fascia repairs, access equipment and consent drawings add to it.

Consent for illuminated signs in Prestatyn
Wales has its own advertisement regulations, and a lit sign is the case where they matter most. Internally illuminated, halo-lit and lit projecting signs typically need express consent, and on listed buildings or in conservation areas the council is likely to look closely at size, light levels and fixings. Keep illumination static and moderate; PLG05 from the Institution of Lighting Professionals is the usual reference. LED modules and drivers run at low voltage, but the mains connection still needs an electrician working to BS 7671. We check before you commit and can prepare or submit the consent application.
