Do you need permission for a sign in Forres?
Scotland runs its own advertisement rules, set out in the 1984 Control of Advertisements (Scotland) Regulations as amended. An unlit sign on your own premises may not need an application, but that depends on its size, its position and whether the building is listed or sits in a conservation area. If consent is needed, the council receives the application, typically submitted online through eDevelopment.scot. On a listed building, listed building consent usually applies too, and fixings into mortar joints are generally preferred. We check the position with you before anything is ordered, and we can draw up and submit the paperwork if you would like us to.

Signs in Forres: questions
Will someone visit my premises in Forres before quoting?
If the job needs it, yes. For signs fixed to a building, anything illuminated or work at height, we arrange a survey to measure, check the wall and plan access. For window graphics, lettering and many vehicle jobs, clear photos with measurements are often enough, and we only visit if something needs a closer look.
Why is there a price range for fascia signs rather than one figure?
Because jobs vary. The guide of £495 to £1,650 per sign + VAT spans small, simple work at one end and larger, more involved work at the other. Size, material, finish, access, design time and any consent drawings push the figure up or down. A survey or artwork check lets us fix the price for your job in Forres.
Can you work to an opening date in Forres?
Tell us the date when you enquire and we will say plainly whether it looks realistic. Timescales typically depend on how soon the proof is approved, how long production takes and whether consent is needed, which can take several weeks on its own. We plan around your date where we can, but we do not promise one we cannot control.
