How do I get a quote for window and door lettering in Alfreton?

Use the quote form, phone or WhatsApp and include a few photos, rough sizes and any logo files you have. We check the details, arrange a survey where one is needed, then send a fixed written price with a design drawn to scale. The quote is free, and nothing is made until you approve it.

What is the typical timescale for window and door lettering from enquiry to fitting?

A quote typically follows once we have your photos or have surveyed the site, and making and fitting is typically booked a few weeks after you approve the proof. Where advertisement consent applies, that decision has to come through before anything goes up, which can add several weeks. We give you an expected timescale with your quote for Alfreton.

How much should I budget for window and door lettering in Alfreton?

As a guide, £95–£480 per window + VAT. Where your job falls in that range depends on size, materials, access height, whether old signage has to come off and how much design work is involved. We confirm a fixed price after a survey or artwork check, before anything is ordered.

How much does door lettering cost?

Door lettering with opening hours has a guide price of £95–£245 + VAT, supplied and fitted, and a full window set £195–£480 + VAT. Gold or metallic vinyl adds a guide £30–£120 + VAT. The price is confirmed once we see photos and wording.

Is gold vinyl the same as gold leaf?

No. Gold vinyl is a metallic film cut by machine and applied like other lettering, for a gilded look at lower cost. Gold leaf is real metal applied by hand, with a deeper shine. From the pavement, metallic vinyl with a black outline reads as signwriting.

Do you need to visit before fitting?

Not always. For a single door or window, clear photos taken straight on with a tape measure in shot, plus glass sizes, are often enough for a scaled proof. A visit helps for large frontages, unusual glazing or old lettering to remove.

Rules for window and glass graphics in Alfreton

Window graphics are something councils treat in different ways. Graphics applied inside the glass are often outside advertisement control or allowed without an application, but large graphics on a listed shopfront or in a conservation area can be restricted, so we check first. Manifestation is a separate matter of safety rather than advertising: glazing that people could walk into must be made visible. In England, Approved Document K suggests marking two zones, 850–1000 mm and 1400–1600 mm above floor level, and the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992, regulation 14, require transparent surfaces to be marked where necessary for safety.
