Can you match the lettering on our sign?

Usually, yes. Send the font name if you know it, or a clear photo of the existing sign, and we'll match or redraw the letterforms and colour so door, window and fascia look like one set. Vector logo files help too.

Could the consent process affect the timing of my job in Ellon?

It can. Not every job needs an application, but where express consent is required the council's decision typically takes several weeks, and fitting typically waits until it is granted. We check this at the start, so the timetable you receive with your quote allows for consent where it applies, along with the proof approval stage.

Can you handle window and door lettering for a business in Ellon?

Yes. Smart Signs covers Ellon and the rest of Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire as part of a UK-wide service. You send photos and rough sizes, we arrange a survey if the job needs one, then you receive a proof to scale and a fixed written price. Nothing is made or fitted until you have approved both.

Will the location in Ellon affect the cost of window and door lettering?

Location is one factor among several, alongside size, material, access equipment and design time. Our guide range is £95–£480 per window + VAT; any travel, parking or access costs for your site in Ellon are included in the written quote we confirm after a survey or artwork check, so you can see them before you commit.

Can people read window lettering at night?

Yes, but it reads differently. Cut vinyl isn't lit, so after dark, with lights on inside, opaque letters can look like dark shapes against the bright interior, whatever their colour. Bold letters stay legible; thin strokes are harder to pick out from the street.

How much does door lettering cost?

Door lettering with opening hours has a guide price of £95–£245 + VAT, supplied and fitted, and a full window set £195–£480 + VAT. Gold or metallic vinyl adds a guide £30–£120 + VAT. The price is confirmed once we see photos and wording.

Rules for window and glass graphics in Ellon

Start with safety. Large panes and glazed doors that people could walk into need manifestation so the glass is obvious, a requirement reflected in Scotland's building standards guidance and, for workplaces, in regulation 14 of the Workplace Regulations 1992. Planning comes next: councils differ in how they treat window graphics, and while inside-the-glass work is often outside control or allowed, a listed building or conservation area can restrict larger designs. We confirm the marking heights and any planning points with you before you approve the proof.
