Do we have to close for fitting?

Usually not. A single shopfront is typically fitted in a few hours once the glass is clean, and the fitter needs only a clear strip by the window. Large or high frontages take longer, and the work can usually be booked before opening or after closing.

How soon after I approve the proof can the work on window graphics happen?

Typically within a few weeks, depending on what has to be made. Printed and cut graphics are typically produced sooner than fabricated letters, trays or illuminated signs, which need more fabrication time. If the job needs advertisement consent, fitting waits for the council's decision. We confirm an expected date for Borehamwood once materials are ordered.

Can you match our brand colours?

Closely, in most cases. Print builds colour from a small set of inks, so some vivid oranges, greens and metallics can't be matched exactly. Send your brand colour references; for a critical colour, we can print a sample to compare first.

Can I get a fixed price for window graphics in Borehamwood before committing?

Yes. We start from the guide range, £28 to £58 per m² excluding VAT, then measure up or look at your photos and artwork. That gives a fixed written price reflecting the real size, materials, access and any design or consent work. You only commit once you accept that price and approve the proof.

Can you handle window graphics for a business in Borehamwood?

Yes. Smart Signs covers Borehamwood and the rest of Hertfordshire as part of a UK-wide service. You send photos and rough sizes, we arrange a survey if the job needs one, then you receive a proof to scale and a fixed written price. Nothing is made or fitted until you have approved both.

Can graphics go on a glass door too?

Yes, and the door is often where people look first. We keep graphics clear of the handle and push plate, laminate anything on the outside face, and leave a clear area at eye level if staff need to see who's coming in.

Rules for window and glass graphics in Borehamwood

Window graphics are something councils treat in different ways. Graphics applied inside the glass are often outside advertisement control or allowed without an application, but large graphics on a listed shopfront or in a conservation area can be restricted, so we check first. Manifestation is a separate matter of safety rather than advertising: glazing that people could walk into must be made visible. In England, Approved Document K suggests marking two zones, 850–1000 mm and 1400–1600 mm above floor level, and the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992, regulation 14, require transparent surfaces to be marked where necessary for safety.
