Do we have to close for fitting?

Usually not. A single shopfront is typically fitted in a few hours once the glass is clean, and the fitter needs only a clear strip by the window. Large or high frontages take longer, and the work can usually be booked before opening or after closing.

Does the price of window graphics in Castlereagh include VAT?

No. Our guide range of £28–£58 per m² excludes VAT, which is added to the quote. The final figure depends on size, materials, access, removal of existing signage or graphics and the artwork needed, and we confirm it in writing after a survey or once we have checked your files.

Can you handle window graphics for a business in Castlereagh?

Yes. Smart Signs covers Castlereagh and the rest of County Down as part of a UK-wide service. You send photos and rough sizes, we arrange a survey if the job needs one, then you receive a proof to scale and a fixed written price. Nothing is made or fitted until you have approved both.

Can you match our brand colours?

Closely, in most cases. Print builds colour from a small set of inks, so some vivid oranges, greens and metallics can't be matched exactly. Send your brand colour references; for a critical colour, we can print a sample to compare first.

How soon after I approve the proof can the work on window graphics happen?

Typically within a few weeks, depending on what has to be made. Printed and cut graphics are typically produced sooner than fabricated letters, trays or illuminated signs, which need more fabrication time. If the job needs advertisement consent, fitting waits for the council's decision. We confirm an expected date for Castlereagh once materials are ordered.

Can graphics go on a glass door too?

Yes, and the door is often where people look first. We keep graphics clear of the handle and push plate, laminate anything on the outside face, and leave a clear area at eye level if staff need to see who's coming in.

Rules for window and glass graphics in Castlereagh

Planning or safety? With glass in Northern Ireland, both can apply. Councils differ in how they view window graphics: inside-the-glass work is often outside control or allowed, but a conservation area or listed shopfront can limit large designs. Separately, large areas of glazing people might walk into must be made visible, a duty the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1993 place on workplaces, backed by Northern Ireland's own building guidance. Where manifestation is needed, the proof for window graphics shows the heights, and we check with the council where the building calls for it.
