Will window graphics damage the glass?

Normally not. Window film adhesives release when warmed, and any residue cleans off the glass. The exceptions are coated or specialist glass, where we follow the maker's guidance, and dark films on large sunny panes, which can stress some glass.

Can you remove a previous tenant's graphics?

Yes. Old vinyl is warmed and peeled, and leftover adhesive is cleaned off so new graphics bond properly. Removal has a guide price of £6–£15 per m² + VAT, depending on the film's age, confirmed after survey, and can be done in the same visit.

Who carries out the work on window graphics in Inverurie?

The work on site is done by installers working under our contract, and anything that needs making is produced by specialist fabricators. You deal with Smart Signs throughout: we take the enquiry, survey, prepare the design and quote, check consent and coordinate the fitting, so there is one point of contact from first message to handover.

Can you see out through window graphics?

Not through standard printed vinyl, which is solid. For a view out, perforated one-way vision film lets people inside see the street while passers-by see your print. It works when it's brighter outside; after dark, with lights on inside, the effect reverses.

How long does it take to get window graphics in Inverurie?

It typically takes a few weeks from first enquiry, with much of that time falling after you approve the proof, while the work is made and scheduled. Graphics and vehicle jobs are typically shorter than fabricated or illuminated signs. If advertisement consent is needed, the council's decision comes first and adds to the overall timescale.

How much should I budget for window graphics in Inverurie?

As a guide, £28–£58 per m² + VAT. Where your job falls in that range depends on size, materials, access height, whether old signage has to come off and how much design work is involved. We confirm a fixed price after a survey or artwork check, before anything is ordered.

Rules for window and glass graphics in Inverurie

Scottish planning authorities vary on whether window graphics count as advertisements. Much internal vinyl is outside control or allowed, but a conservation area or listed frontage can restrict larger graphics, and listed building consent may be relevant too. Safety is the other consideration. Scotland's building standards have their own guidance on making glazing visible, while in workplaces the 1992 Workplace Regulations (regulation 14) require marking where necessary. Before the proof for window graphics is approved, we confirm the heights for any manifestation and raise any planning point with you.
