How soon after painting can graphics go up?

Not until the paint has cured, which takes longer than drying to the touch. Follow the paint maker's guidance; as a rough guide, allow at least a couple of weeks. Applied too soon, vinyl can trap solvents, causing bubbles or a weak bond.

Can you fit while the building is open?

Usually, yes. Vinyl fitting is quiet, low-odour and needs only a clear area by the wall, so offices and shops often stay open. For schools, busy receptions or large murals, the work can be scheduled for evenings, weekends or school holidays.

Could the consent process affect the timing of my job in Sunbury-on-Thames?

It can. Not every job needs an application, but where express consent is required the council's decision typically takes several weeks, and fitting typically waits until it is granted. We check this at the start, so the timetable you receive with your quote allows for consent where it applies, along with the proof approval stage.

What makes wall graphics and murals more or less expensive?

Size and quantity come first, then the material or film, any lighting, the height of the work and the equipment needed to reach it, and the state of the surface or old sign being replaced. Against that, the guide for a job in Sunbury-on-Thames is £38–£82 per m² + VAT, confirmed after a survey or artwork check.

Can wall graphics go on an outside wall?

Sometimes, but it's a different job. Outside walls need weather- and UV-resistant materials, and a branded graphic counts as an advertisement, so consent may be needed; we check first. A printed panel fixed to the wall often outlasts vinyl on rough masonry.

Will someone visit my premises in Sunbury-on-Thames before quoting?

If the job needs it, yes. For signs fixed to a building, anything illuminated or work at height, we arrange a survey to measure, check the wall and plan access. For window graphics, lettering and many vehicle jobs, clear photos with measurements are often enough, and we only visit if something needs a closer look.

Wall graphics and murals in Sunbury-on-Thames: permission and rules

Graphics on interior walls usually fall outside advertisement control, so planning consent is rarely the question indoors. The checks are fire performance in escape routes, your lease, and listed status: listed building consent covers interiors too, so ask the council before fixing to historic surfaces. A branded graphic on an outside wall is normally treated as an advertisement; in England it falls under the 2007 regulations, and large graphics may need express consent. Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own rules. If consent is needed, we can prepare the drawings and photos or submit the application for you.
