Projecting and hanging signs in Derry/Londonderry

It depends on the pavement width and the rules where you are. The sign needs to stay well back from the kerb, clear of high-sided vehicles, and the highway authority may set a maximum projection. We measure the footway at survey and size the bracket to suit.

It is. We work throughout the UK rather than in a single region, so Derry/Londonderry and every part of County Londonderry are included. Where a survey is needed we arrange a visit; for graphics jobs we can often quote from photos and measurements. Either way, you get a proof and a written price first.

Yes. We start from the guide range, £395 to £1,350 per sign excluding VAT, then measure up or look at your photos and artwork. That gives a fixed written price reflecting the real size, materials, access and any design or consent work. You only commit once you accept that price and approve the proof.

It typically takes a few weeks from first enquiry, with much of that time falling after you approve the proof, while the work is made and scheduled. Graphics and vehicle jobs are typically shorter than fabricated or illuminated signs. If advertisement consent is needed, the council's decision comes first and adds to the overall timescale.

Possibly. A sign projecting over a public pavement may need a licence from the highway authority, which is separate from advertisement consent from the planning department. We can check the requirement for your street and prepare the drawings and photos the application needs.

The building owner or occupier is usually responsible for keeping a sign over the highway safe, which is why regular checks matter. Ask your own insurer to confirm your cover includes signs over the footway. A correctly sized bracket in sound masonry, checked after storms, reduces the risk.
