A projecting sign is a sign, usually double-sided, fixed at right angles to a building on a wall bracket, so it can be read by people approaching along the street from either direction.
What you gain from projecting and hanging signs in Buckley
- Upstairs businesses in Buckley, such as salons, studios and accountants, can use a projecting sign at street level to mark a side door.
- If your Buckley street is narrow and fascias are hard to read at an angle, a hanging sign catches shoppers walking towards your door.
- Visitors browsing Buckley on foot look along a street rather than at each shopfront in turn, which is exactly the view a projecting sign serves.
What projecting and hanging signs cost in Buckley
Pricing for projecting and hanging signs is worked out job by job, but the guide range is £395 to £1,350 per sign + VAT. The table lists typical options. Your figure is confirmed only after a site survey or a check of the artwork you send.
| Item | Guide, ex VAT | Inc. VAT (20%) |
|---|---|---|
| Double-sided panel sign with standard bracket | £395 – £850 | £474 – £1,020 |
| Shaped or painted sign with decorative bracket | £650 – £1,350 | £780 – £1,620 |
Size and shape come first, then the bracket: a scroll bracket costs more than flat bar, and larger signs need stronger brackets and wall plates. Painted finishes, access height, the wall type and any drawings for a highway licence or advertisement consent also affect the figure.

Do you need permission for a sign in Buckley?
Putting up a non-illuminated sign in Wales? Some signs on business premises can go up under deemed consent, but the 1992 Advertisement Regulations that apply in Wales set their own conditions, which differ in detail from England's. Conservation areas and listed buildings need more care, and a listed building usually needs listed building consent too, with fixings into mortar joints rather than the stone or brick face generally preferred. Our approach is simple: we confirm with the council what applies to your building before you spend anything, then prepare the drawings or submit the application for you if one is needed.
