Will the sign swing in the wind?

It shouldn't. A lit box is fixed rigidly to its bracket rather than hung on chains, so it stays still in normal winds, with the bracket and fixings sized for its weight and exposure. Traditional hanging signs move; lit ones are fixed solid.

Can each side show something different?

Yes. The two faces are separate, so one side can carry your logo and the other a name or service, though many businesses keep both identical so the sign reads the same from either direction. Any difference should be shown on the consent drawings.

Can you reuse our existing bracket?

Sometimes. If the bracket is sound, well placed and strong enough, reusing it saves cost and avoids fresh holes. Rust at the wall plate, cracked masonry, missing fixings or no route for a cable usually mean a new bracket is safer.

What is the typical timescale for illuminated projecting signs from enquiry to fitting?

A quote typically follows once we have your photos or have surveyed the site, and making and fitting is typically booked a few weeks after you approve the proof. Where advertisement consent applies, that decision has to come through before anything goes up, which can add several weeks. We give you an expected timescale with your quote for Rosyth.

Is there a guide price for illuminated projecting signs in Rosyth?

Yes: £695–£2,250 per sign + VAT is our guide range. It is not a fixed quote, because no two jobs are the same size or on the same surface. The area covered, materials, the number of letters or panels, removal of anything old and access all change the figure, which we confirm after seeing the site or artwork.

Do you cover smaller places near Rosyth as well?

Yes. Our coverage is not limited to Rosyth itself: nearby towns, industrial estates and business parks across Fife are included too. The process does not change with the postcode. Send photos and approximate sizes, and we will tell you whether a site visit is needed before we can give you a fixed price.

Consent for illuminated signs in Rosyth

A lit sign is the clearest case for applying first. Scotland's 1984 Advertisement Regulations treat illuminated signs differently from unlit ones, and express consent is usually needed for halo-lit letters, lightboxes and lit projecting signs. We check with the council before you commit to illuminated projecting signs, then put together scaled drawings, photo mock-ups and lighting details, which you can submit via eDevelopment.scot or we can submit for you. Expect the council to look at brightness (PLG05 is the usual reference) and to prefer steady light, perhaps on a time switch. The mains connection is completed by an electrician to BS 7671.
