Glass manifestation is marking such as dots, bands, logos or frosted strips applied to glass doors, screens and partitions so people can see the glass and don't walk into it.
Points in favour of glass manifestation in Abingdon
- Shops with frameless glass entrances in Abingdon can turn the marking into branding, repeating the logo in both zones.
- Schools, surgeries and leisure centres around Abingdon see visitors of every age and height, which is why two marking zones matter.
- During an Abingdon fit-out, sign-off tends to go more smoothly when the glazing is already marked at the recommended heights.

Rules for window and glass graphics in Abingdon
Window graphics are something councils treat in different ways. Graphics applied inside the glass are often outside advertisement control or allowed without an application, but large graphics on a listed shopfront or in a conservation area can be restricted, so we check first. Manifestation is a separate matter of safety rather than advertising: glazing that people could walk into must be made visible. In England, Approved Document K suggests marking two zones, 850–1000 mm and 1400–1600 mm above floor level, and the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992, regulation 14, require transparent surfaces to be marked where necessary for safety.
