Glass manifestation is marking such as dots, bands, logos or frosted strips applied to glass doors, screens and partitions so people can see the glass and don't walk into it.
Glass manifestation in Saddleworth: the practical benefits
- Offices in Saddleworth moving into space with glass partitions often find manifestation on the landlord's list before handover.
- Restaurants in Saddleworth with glass screens between tables can use subtle frosted patterns that mark the glass without blocking views.
- During a Saddleworth fit-out, sign-off tends to go more smoothly when the glazing is already marked at the recommended heights.
What glass manifestation costs in Saddleworth
The figures in this table are guide prices, from £65 to £180 per pane, and they exclude VAT. They are there to help you plan. A firm price follows the survey or artwork check and is agreed before any work starts.
| Item | Guide, ex VAT | Inc. VAT (20%) |
|---|---|---|
| Manifestation per door or pane | £65 – £180 | £78 – £216 |
| Typical office floor (6–12 panes) | £450 – £1,450 | £540 – £1,740 |
| Minimum job | £195 | £234 |
Dots and bands cost least; logos and two-tone designs more. Pane size, old markings to remove and high glazing also count; the price is confirmed after survey.

Rules for window and glass graphics in Saddleworth
Most businesses ask two things about glass: do I need permission, and does it need marking? On permission, councils in England take differing views on window graphics; inside-the-glass work is often outside control or allowed, while big graphics on listed shopfronts or in conservation areas can be restricted. We check before you commit. On marking, Approved Document K recommends manifestation at 850–1000 mm and 1400–1600 mm above floor level on glazing people could walk into, and the Workplace Regulations 1992 (regulation 14) cover transparent surfaces at work. Our proof shows the heights, so you can see the result before anything is cut.
