How soon after I approve the proof can the work on frosted window film happen?

Typically within a few weeks, depending on what has to be made. Printed and cut graphics are typically produced sooner than fabricated letters, trays or illuminated signs, which need more fabrication time. If the job needs advertisement consent, fitting waits for the council's decision. We confirm an expected date for Stowmarket once materials are ordered.

Do you work across Suffolk or only in Stowmarket?

Across all of Suffolk, and the rest of the UK too. Stowmarket is simply one of the places we list, and enquiries from anywhere nearby follow exactly the same steps: photos or a survey, a scaled proof, a written price, then making and fitting once you sign off the design.

How long does office fitting take?

A few meeting rooms are typically fitted in a day once the glass is clean. Long partition runs, intricate cut designs or high glazing take longer. Fitting can often be arranged early, late or at weekends so meetings carry on as normal.

Does frosted film look like etched glass?

Very nearly. From normal viewing distances, a good etch-effect film looks like sandblasted or acid-etched glass; up close, the film edge and a slight sheen can give it away. Unlike etching, it goes onto existing glass and can be removed or changed later.

Does the price of frosted window film in Stowmarket include VAT?

No. Our guide range of £32–£68 per m² excludes VAT, which is added to the quote. The final figure depends on size, materials, access, removal of existing signage or graphics and the artwork needed, and we confirm it in writing after a survey or once we have checked your files.

Does frosted film go inside or outside?

Usually inside, on the room side, where it's protected from weather and easy to clean. On double-glazed units only the exposed faces can be filmed, so the room side is the norm. Outdoor-grade films exist for glass that can't be reached from inside.

Frosted window film in Stowmarket

Frosted window film is a translucent, etch-effect self-adhesive film that blurs the view through glass while still letting daylight pass, giving the look of sandblasted glass without replacing it.

Rules for window and glass graphics in Stowmarket

Window graphics are something councils treat in different ways. Graphics applied inside the glass are often outside advertisement control or allowed without an application, but large graphics on a listed shopfront or in a conservation area can be restricted, so we check first. Manifestation is a separate matter of safety rather than advertising: glazing that people could walk into must be made visible. In England, Approved Document K suggests marking two zones, 850–1000 mm and 1400–1600 mm above floor level, and the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992, regulation 14, require transparent surfaces to be marked where necessary for safety.
