Frosted window film is a translucent, etch-effect self-adhesive film that blurs the view through glass while still letting daylight pass, giving the look of sandblasted glass without replacing it.
Where frosted window film can pay off in Cheltenham
- Ground-floor offices on a Cheltenham street can frost the lower half of each window, keeping desks private while daylight comes in above.
- Community halls and training rooms around Cheltenham can add frosted bands to glazed walls so sessions run without corridor distractions.
- Where serviced offices in Cheltenham change layouts often, removable film lets meeting rooms be rebranded without replacing any glass.

Rules for window and glass graphics in Cheltenham
Window graphics are something councils treat in different ways. Graphics applied inside the glass are often outside advertisement control or allowed without an application, but large graphics on a listed shopfront or in a conservation area can be restricted, so we check first. Manifestation is a separate matter of safety rather than advertising: glazing that people could walk into must be made visible. In England, Approved Document K suggests marking two zones, 850–1000 mm and 1400–1600 mm above floor level, and the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992, regulation 14, require transparent surfaces to be marked where necessary for safety.
