Fleet livery is a consistent set of vehicle graphics, produced from master templates for each vehicle model, so every van, car, truck or trailer a business runs carries the same branding in the same position.

Points in favour of fleet livery in March

  • Facilities, cleaning and maintenance firms with contracts in and around March benefit from vehicles that look like one team, whoever is driving.
  • For contractors on housing, council or utility jobs in March, consistent livery helps residents recognise who is genuinely meant to be on site.
  • Vehicles going back to lease companies from a March depot need graphics removed cleanly, so planning de-fleet removal early avoids surprises.

Rules for vehicle graphics in March

Think road rules rather than planning rules. In England a vehicle normally used for driving is outside advertisement control, although parking one somewhere chiefly as a billboard can bring it back within the council's remit. Three checks matter more. Tell DVLA, via the V5C, and your insurer if the main colour changes. Keep the windscreen at 75% light transmission or better and the front side windows at 70% or better, as the 1986 Construction and Use Regulations require. And for lease vehicles, read the agreement for what it says about graphics and removal. We plan every layout around all three.

Fleet livery in March: questions

Will someone visit my premises in March before quoting?

If the job needs it, yes. For signs fixed to a building, anything illuminated or work at height, we arrange a survey to measure, check the wall and plan access. For window graphics, lettering and many vehicle jobs, clear photos with measurements are often enough, and we only visit if something needs a closer look.

Is there a typical lead time for fleet livery in March?

Yes, though it varies with the job. The lead time typically runs from the day you approve the proof, not from the first enquiry, and is typically a few weeks. Survey visits, artwork changes and any consent application sit before that point, so getting photos, sizes and logo files to us early typically shortens the overall timescale.

How long does a fleet roll-out take?

It depends on the number of vehicles, the coverage and how many you can release at once. Templates and proofs typically take 2–4 weeks, then vehicles are fitted in agreed batches. A lettering-led livery moves faster than part wraps, and many fleets phase the work over several months so no more than a few vehicles are off the road at a time.

How do you keep colours consistent across the fleet?

By fixing the film and print references at the start and recording them. Solid-colour vinyl is chosen from a fixed range, and printed colours are matched to your references and proofed on the actual film. Small variations between print batches can occur, so replacement panels are checked against the graphics already fitted.

What makes fleet livery more or less expensive?

Size and quantity come first, then the material or film, any lighting, the height of the work and the equipment needed to reach it, and the state of the surface or old sign being replaced. Against that, the guide for a job in March is £225–£1,650 per vehicle + VAT, confirmed after a survey or artwork check.

Can you take over livery designed by someone else?

Yes. Send the original artwork if you have it, or straight-on photos of each vehicle type. We redraw the livery onto master templates, match colours as closely as the films allow, and flag anything that won't transfer well to a new model, such as graphics that would cross a different door line.
