Why use a paper template for fixing?

The template is a full-size layout of every letter with its fixing holes marked. Taped to the wall, it shows the exact position and spacing before anyone drills, lets you see the scale on the real building, and makes sure each stud lines up with its hole.

Will someone visit my premises in Ammanford before quoting?

If the job needs it, yes. For signs fixed to a building, anything illuminated or work at height, we arrange a survey to measure, check the wall and plan access. For window graphics, lettering and many vehicle jobs, clear photos with measurements are often enough, and we only visit if something needs a closer look.

Can you work to an opening date in Ammanford?

Tell us the date when you enquire and we will say plainly whether it looks realistic. Timescales typically depend on how soon the proof is approved, how long production takes and whether consent is needed, which can take several weeks on its own. We plan around your date where we can, but we do not promise one we cannot control.

What makes built-up 3D letters more or less expensive?

Size and quantity come first, then the material or film, any lighting, the height of the work and the equipment needed to reach it, and the state of the surface or old sign being replaced. Against that, the guide for a job in Ammanford is £55–£165 per letter + VAT, confirmed after a survey or artwork check.

Can non-lit built-up letters be lit later?

Not easily. Illuminated letters need translucent faces or open backs, internal LED modules, drain holes and cable routes designed in from the start. If lighting is a possibility, we can quote halo-lit or face-lit letters now, or plan spotlights for a non-lit set.

What is the difference between built-up and flat-cut letters?

Built-up letters are hollow, fabricated with separate faces and returns, so they can be 50–100 mm deep or more. Flat-cut letters are cut from one solid sheet, usually 5–10 mm thick. Built-up letters have more presence and share their construction with illuminated letters; flat-cut letters cost less.

Built-up letters are three-dimensional letters fabricated, usually from metal sheet, with a face and returns joined into a hollow letter typically 50–100 mm deep, then fixed to a wall or sign on locators.

Do you need permission for a sign in Ammanford?

Wales still uses the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) Regulations 1992, as amended. The system looks similar to England's, with some signs allowed under deemed consent and others needing express consent from the council, but the details differ, so we check with the local planning authority rather than assume English limits apply. On a listed building, listed building consent is usually needed as well, and works without it can be a criminal offence. We look at your premises before you commit and can prepare drawings and photos for an application, or submit it for you.
